Tests the impact resistance of coatings on metal substrates with a free-falling weight, per ISO 6272-1.
Overview
The impact tester is an essential tool for assessing how well paints and coatings on metal withstand a sudden impact — revealing whether a film cracks or delaminates under rapid deformation, which is critical for automotive, coil-coating and industrial finishes. The panel is clamped firmly on the die and a weight falls from a defined height down a graduated guide tube (cm/inch) for repeatable impacts. Exchangeable weights and dies, a maximum 2 kg load and up to 100 cm drop height let you simulate a wide range of impact energies in full accordance with ISO 6272-1. All BYK‑Gardner instruments supplied by K&K carry a 12-month manufacturer warranty.
