Overview
The cupping tester (Erichsen cupping test) evaluates how far a coating can stretch and deform as the metal substrate is pushed out — showing manufacturers how well a film adheres and elongates before it cracks, which matters most for automotive, coil-coating and metal-packaging finishes. An electrohydraulic drive delivers highly reproducible results at a uniform 0.2 mm/s indentation speed, with a 0.1 mm digital display and an easy eccentric clamping ring. The C-opening accepts large and small panels (up to 1.5 mm thick) and operation is simple with just three keys, fully per ISO 1520. All BYK‑Gardner instruments supplied by K&K carry a 12-month manufacturer warranty.
