Conical Mandrel Bend Tester 5751
Evaluates coating flexibility and adhesion by bending a panel around a conical mandrel, per ASTM D522 / ISO 6860.
Overview
The conical mandrel bend tester evaluates the flexibility and adhesion of a coating as the metal panel is bent — showing how much deformation the film withstands before it cracks or delaminates, which matters for coil, automotive and metal-packaging coatings. Because the mandrel diameter varies continuously from 3.2 to 38.1 mm, a single bend produces a full gradient of distension, pinpointing exactly where cracking begins. A precision-cut mandrel, a built-in ruler and a slip-preventing sample holder make it quick to use, reliable and durable. All BYK‑Gardner instruments supplied by K&K carry a 12-month manufacturer warranty.
