Pendulum Hardness Tester byko-swing (König/Persoz)
Measures coating hardness from the damping time of an oscillating pendulum — König and Persoz methods.
Overview
byko-swing is a precise laboratory pendulum hardness tester that gauges coating hardness from the damping time of an oscillating pendulum — a sensitive indicator of a film's cure and viscoelastic character. It supports both standardized methods, König (for hard coatings) and Persoz (for softer ones), making it suitable for a wide range of finishes from industrial and automotive to wood and furniture. An automatic counter, acoustic signal and optical sensors make readings fast, objective and highly repeatable — ideal for QC and R&D per ASTM D4366 and ISO 1522. All BYK‑Gardner instruments supplied by K&K carry a 12-month manufacturer warranty.
Key Features
- Measures by both the König and Persoz methods
- Automatic counter with acoustic signal below 3° (König) / 4° (Persoz)
- Deflection registered by light barriers; digital counter
- Switch König ↔ Persoz via a third light barrier
- Display in seconds or number of oscillations
